Kinnick Stadium Adding New Security Measures

Kinnick Stadium to Implement Enhanced Security Measures

Heightened Security for Fan Safety and Game Day Experience

New Measures to Enhance Safety and Expedite Entry

The University of Iowa Athletics Department has announced the implementation of enhanced security measures at Kinnick Stadium for the upcoming football season. These measures are designed to provide a safer and more secure environment for fans while also expediting entry into the stadium.

The new security measures include the installation of walk-through metal detectors at all stadium entrances. Fans will be required to walk through the detectors and place their belongings on a conveyor belt for screening. In addition, all bags will be subject to search by security personnel.

The university is also implementing a new "clear bag" policy. Fans will only be permitted to bring clear bags into the stadium, and these bags must be no larger than 12" x 6" x 12".

According to the university, these new measures are in line with security protocols at other major college football stadiums. The measures are designed to deter crime, prevent weapons from entering the stadium, and expedite entry for fans.

Fans are encouraged to arrive at the stadium early to allow for additional time for security screening. The university is also asking fans to be patient and cooperative with security personnel.

The new security measures are part of a comprehensive plan to enhance the fan experience at Kinnick Stadium. The university has also made improvements to concession stands, restrooms, and seating areas in recent years.
