Early Life and Career

Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20, 1964, in Oakland, California. She earned a degree in political science and economics from Howard University and a law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. After graduating, Harris worked as a prosecutor in the Alameda County District Attorney's office and later became the District Attorney of San Francisco.

Political Rise

In 2010, Harris was elected as California's Attorney General, becoming the first Black woman to hold the position. During her tenure, she focused on criminal justice reform and consumer protection.
